Artist Studio at Dawn

We wanted to get this modern home shot for a contest we were entering, so we arranged to show up at dawn to photograph it.  By "we", I mean Janet, myself and Dave McLaughlin of DCM Photography.  Dave agreed to shoot the house, and let me tag along with him - very generous, in my opinion.  I got a lot of good pointers in what to do and not to do, because Dave is a gracious teacher, even while doing his work.  The light was beautiful, and we got some very nice shots, although there was little doubt as to whose shots were the professional's.....  At any rate, here are mine:  Carter's Photostream

Shooting the Eco Ranch

Last year, a couple that my wife designed a house for overlooking the Texas Hill Country outside of Austin let us shoot their house, and here is the set from the shoot. As many of you know, her firm is Hobbs' Ink.

As it was one of my first times to take photographs "in anger", it was a learning experience.  I took something like 300 pictures, which was massive overkill, and I found that following that approach can get some good images, but it makes the vetting process so daunting that it's difficult to finish the project.  More after the jump...
